Second Annual Harvard-Zaytuna Research Symposium

Date:

Friday, March 1, 2024 (All day) to Sunday, March 3, 2024 (All day)

Location:

Zaytuna College, Berkeley, CA

Harvard University and Zaytuna College are proud to announce their second annual symposium. This collaboration is a joint effort initiated by students at Harvard University and Zaytuna College. We aim to provide a space for undergraduates and masters’ students to present their research either culminating in their thesis or individual projects. This will provide an opportunity for participants to have their research reviewed by esteemed faculty members of another institution, produce publishable research, foster new relationships, and ultimately cooperate on future intellectual pursuits. Students from Harvard, Zaytuna, and Bayan are eligible to submit their research.

Harvard-Zaytuna Symposium 2024

Research should be relevant to the broad field of Islamic studies, religious studies, or religious philosophy. Interdisciplinary research topics are encouraged. Submissions must be of original authorship and not have been published previously. A senior or master’s thesis is encouraged, but not required. If you intend to submit an ongoing paper or thesis, you may submit one to two chapters along with your abstract. Papers should be a minimum of 5,000 words.

The 2024 Symposium will be held at Zaytuna College, Berkeley, CA, March 1-3rd, 2024. We will provide coverage for flight fares, accommodation, and food. Have a look at a recap video of last year's event!
