Expanding its constitutional mandate, the Guardian Council has now become the major player in Iran’s constitutional politics. She examines the jurisprudence of the Council with regard to some of the most significant laws adopted in recent years in Iran and look into how the Council evaluates the claims of sharia incompatibility v. constitutional violation. <strong>Lunch will be provided.
