DESCRIPTION:<div class="markup">	<p>		<strong>This event does not require registration; see further details below.</strong>	</p>	<p>		Focusing on the theme of preserving memory and loss, Syrian American artist Mohamad Hafez will speak about his profession and artistic career in light of changing political conditions—both in the United States and in the Middle East—over the last two decades.	</p>	<p>		Speaker:<br><strong><a href="https://www.mohamadhafez.com/">Mohamad Hafez</a></strong>, Artist and Architect	</p>	<p>		Free admission, but seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.	</p>	<p>		The lecture will take place in Menschel Hall, Lower Level. Doors to the hall will open for seating at 5:30pm.	</p>	<p>		The Harvard Art Museums are offering three other programs related to this lecture: a <a href="https://harvardartmuseums.org/calendar/close-looking-islamic-era-syrian-works-from-the-museums-collections-2">close-looking experience</a> in the Art Study Center on Thursday, April 18 (offered <a href="https://harvardartmuseums.org/calendar/close-looking-islamic-era-syrian-works-from-the-museums-collections">twice</a>), a <a href="https://harvardartmuseums.org/calendar/materials-lab-workshop-preserving-memory-and-loss-with-artist-mohamad-hafez">Materials Lab Workshop</a> with the artist, also on Thursday, April 18, and an <a href="https://harvardartmuseums.org/calendar/walking-tour-of-boston-s-little-syria-off-site">off-site walking tour</a> of Boston’s Little Syria on Friday, April 19.	</p>	<p>		Limited complimentary parking is available in the Broadway Garage, 7 Felton Street, Cambridge.	</p>	<p>		The Harvard Art Museums are now offering <a href="https://harvardartmuseums.org/visit/policies/ticketing-information">free admission</a> every day, Tuesday through Sunday.
