Masoud Ariankhoo

Masoud is a PhD candidate in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations with a secondary field in Medieval Studies. His research explores the portrayal of the Devil in the formative and classical periods of Islamic thought, focusing on Quranic exegesis, collections of prophetic sayings, and Sufi literature.
His scholarship has been featured in the Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception (De Gruyter) and in the Festschrift for William Chittick and Sachiko Murata (Brill).
Masoud holds an MA in History from Stony Brook University and an MTS in Islamic Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
